A well-placed investment can change the arc of a life or an entire community.
The Chandan Foundation is committed to fostering durable change through targeted investments in emerging leaders and their communities. Its work reflects our belief that dignity and opportunity grow through simple, tangible acts—investing in a young person's potential, strengthening a community's resources, or supporting those with exceptional goals but fewer advantages.
The Foundation's initial priorities are grounded in these convictions. They include expanding educational pathways for women in India and supporting vital rural infrastructure, including access to clean and reliable water. Each effort embodies that even a single, well-placed investment can change the arc of a life or an entire community.

Clean Water Access in Rural India: Policy Context and Investment Opportunities

India has made historic progress in expanding rural water infrastructure. Since 2019, major initiatives have connected roughly 150 million rural households to tap water, and around four out of five rural homes now report a functional household connection. Yet this success masks a deeper sustainability problem. In many places, the expansion of pipes and taps has far outpaced investment in long-term operations, source protection, and agricultural water management.

Our work focuses on targeted investments that create lasting opportunity. Whether supporting education, strengthening infrastructure, or building agricultural resilience, we seek interventions that expand what's possible for individuals and their communities.
The Foundation's leadership draw on decades of combined experience in business leadership, applied research, diplomacy, and global policy engagement. These expertise shape the Foundation's approach to identifying high-impact interventions and ensuring disciplined, evidence-based grantmaking.
